  back in 1970, i found myself moving into one of the largest council estates in the uk.

  leigh park is a massive housing complex owned by portsmouth city council.

  it houses those who cant afford their own homes by offering subsidised rents.

  I was as miserable as Sin for the first year, completely lost. I didn't know who or what I was or where I was going But I started to make mates, form relationships and get my life back together. Now I'm as Happy as Larry and I'm a much better, happier, grounded person than I ever was as a dub.

  The most important thing I learnt in the world was to stop judging people.

  If you claim a divine miracle in your life, you will be disfellowshipped!!!

  one of the key things i have noticed since leaving the witnesses and interacting with other faiths, is that they often mention the word "miracle!

  " in that they will claim that their god had performed some sort of miracle in their life that brought about something amazing.

  it is not always christians who say this either, as many of my "pagan" friends and myself have had spirit driven moments that were something that could not be displaced as "chance.

  I experienced some events like these and I personally think their are very real and not demons. If I had experienced these as a Witness and shared them with the congregation, I would have been counseled and if I continued to believe them and express that, I would have been disfellowshipped.

  I don't think that's strictly true about being disfellowshipped for believing in miracle's. The Year books often had stories about brothers and sisters who had weird experiences like being invisible to soldiers, being able to leap over fences that a normal human couldn't. They would attribute these events to angles or Jehovah.

  The fact these stories made it into publication must mean that the org gives (or gave) some credence to the claims.

  g'day rude people,

  some of you are just now learning what long-suffering older posters have known all along i can be very annoying!

  my rising paranoia tells me enemies are setting up all around ... golf keeps whacking me with his #12 iron, the elders keep threatening to take me to the backroom, and even the mild mannered caveman comes out to kick me in the go-nuts

  she loves the tropics (she grew up in the phillipines).

  i can't stand heat paired with humidity (i grew up in utah.

  Its all true what Slugga said about the bats in Sydney, they're attracted by woman's perfume, they chase them down the street and if you run into a shop to get away from them they pack around the windows like that pic up above clawing at the windows to get in. LOL

  Last king of the north - Russia

  from the 2005 cdrom there are plenty of references to russia being the king of the north.

  this starts, as far as i found, at least as early as 1960. what is more difficult to locate are articles that imply that russia is the last kofn.

  if anyone has any handy please paste them.

  Bible Studies that left the JWs before baptism

  many persons studying with the jws go ahead and get baptised, but many others do not, do you know such ppl and the reasons they gave for stopping contact with the jws?

  they did of course the right thing and spared themselves a lot of potential trouble and exploitation in the future.

  a person i knew gave up all contact with the dubs after a year of studying with them, because she found them to be too pharisaic they put a lot of demands on the members but don't do anything to help them, like modern day pharisees.

  ...however I always had at the back of my mind that living forever with no decent music and no movies or books would be a fate worst than death - I never wanted to go to paradise.

  Can you imagine living next door to moses, a 1000 yrs of him moaning on about what he did for Jehovah only to be resurrected and have to live with dubs (who only had to sell magazines) when nutters like Russell are upstairs lording it over everyone else.
